What is The Green Business Fund?

Launched in April 2016, The Green Business Fund is run by The Carbon Trust and offers support for small & medium sized companies in England, Scotland & Wales wishing to improve their energy efficiency.
The support on offer includes energy efficiency assessments, project implementation advice and financial contributions towards the cost of newly purchased energy saving equipment.

What Support is available from The Green Business Fund?

Energy Opportunity Assessments

Provided remotely by telephone and email or on-site, the Energy Opportunity Assessments are available to companies with fewer than 250 employees. They are designed to help the company identify areas where energy savings can be made and put together a strong business case for any expense that might be incurred.

Advice

For companies who already have a specific energy saving project in mind, A Carbon Trust consultant can provide advice on feasibility, implementation, supplier identification & tendering for up to 5 days at no cost to your business.
This support is available to companies with up to 1000 employees.

Find energy savings opportunities & confirm Green Business Fund project savings with an AtlasEMS Energy Management System

Any reduction in site energy use impacts directly on company profitability; £1000 reduction on energy bills = £1000 increase in profits.

Green Business Fund Workshops
Aimed at companies with fewer than 50 employees, the Carbon Trust’s Green Business Fund Workshops take place at locations around the England.
The aim of the workshops is to provide guidance on how small companies can identify areas where energy efficiency could be improved and implement changes to reduce energy costs.

Funding for Energy Saving Equipment

The final stage of the support offered via The Green Business Fund is a capital contribution of up to 30% of the cost of energy saving projects up to a maximum of £10,000.
To be eligible for the capital funding, applicants must have fewer than 250 employees, the total cost of the project must be at least £2,500 and energy saving equipment should be sourced from suppliers within the Green Business Directory or from a BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) Member.
