ATLAS
Energy Monitoring System
The ATLAS
energy monitoring system system can be used to monitor
and record electricity and other resource usage for
individual sites, for cost centres within these sites and
even for widespread sites within a national or
international groups.
The accumulated information is permanently stored and can
be used for tariff comparison, consumption and cost
profiles and give useful information on many aspects of
plant operation. THE SYSTEM
The system is designed
to continuously monitor the pulsed outputs from energy
meters which will typically be electricity meters but
could include gas, steam or other meters if desired.
LOGGER
OUTSTATIONS
The full range of NFE
ATLAS IV Loggers (8, 40, 72, 104 inputs) and 4 input
Micro-Loggers can easily be accomodated in ATLAS systems.
For more infomation on the logger hardware see LOGGER OUTSTATIONS.
ATLAS
SOFTWARE
For normal operation the system computer will communicate
with the logger outstations at regular, user set,
intervals. The collected data will be stored on the
system hard disc in the systems Microsoft Access
databases.
The ATLAS software is designed to be easily used by
persons familiar with Windows. It is extremely versatile
allowing easy system configuration and includes a number
of readily pre-formatted reports.
Some of the
features of ATLAS software are:
- The
data can be organised into logical, named,
Analysis Centres by adding or subtracting
meter channels or a proportion of a channel (e.g.
Meter 7 + Meter 9 + 60% of Meter 8 - Meter 2).
The same meter readings can be used in
different centres if required.
- Any
number of tariffs of any complexity can
enterd by the user, each with start and end
dates, multiple time bands, fixed charges etc
- A
range of analysis periods can be accommodated
e.g. Electricity Supply Authority months,
accounting periods, production periods etc.
for data analysis.
- Graphical
and numerical reports on period, daily
consumption and cost can be produced for any
centre.
- Reports
and graphs can be printed on the system
printer, in colour if required.
- An
extract from the Microsoft Access database
can be created for the user to operate his/her
own queries either within Access or through
Microsoft Excel or another preferred
spreadsheet program.
MULTIPLE
USERS / LOCAL AREA NETWORKS
It is very simple for
the ATLAS system computer to provide data to a LAN file
server for sitewide analysis and reporting. Cost
effective multiple user or sitewide software licences are
available where required.
Load
/ Demand Control
To the ATLAS system can be added an
automatic load / demand
control
capability.
This facility can be
used on a site to maintain the peak demand below an
acceptable level. Equally usable for electricity or gas
control, this system enhancement can operate on a total
site or a critical area as required by the user.
See Load / Demand Control for more information.

AtlasXTRA
and Report Scheduler Add-On Packages
For those wanting additional data analysis
capabilities two add-on packages are available as an
enhancement of the ATLAS software.
The AtlasXTRA program provides a number
of additional standard reports not available in the
standard ATLAS package as well as a number of useful data
manipulation tools. The additional reports include;
Max/Ave/Min
Demand Reports
Period Demand & Power Factor
Period by Period Consumption
Top 20 Maximum demand Table.
The
ATLAS Reports Scheduler allows a number
of popular standard reports to be scheduled for automatic
generation. Reports can be scheduled for automatic
printing or saved as standard CSV files to a user
specified path.
For
further information on either of these add-on packages
please contact us.
MiniATLAS
Also available, for multi-site operations
with limited resources or those not requiring the
extensive capabilities of the full ATLAS systrem is the
MiniAtlas package.
This combines the MiniATLAS system software used
exclusively with a number of 4-channel Atlas
Microloggers or a single, 40-channel Atlas IV
logger.
For
more information download the MiniATLAS leaflet.
